Open Point Exhibition Stand & Brand Activation Case Study

OBJECTIVE

Open Point engaged our team to design and deliver a fully custom exhibition stand for OzWater, one of the water industry’s largest annual conventions.

The stand needed to:

  • Stand out and draw people in
  • Communicate what Open Point’s software actually does, a product that was genuinely difficult to make visual
  • Occupy a 12m x 6m space, positioned directly beside the event’s catering zone, creating an opportunity to capture natural foot traffic and turn it into real conversations
  • Provide seating for a minimum of 30 guests to support the adjacent catering zone, creating a lounge feel without it looking or feeling like a conventional lounge

WHAT WE DELIVERED

In just three weeks from brief to bump-in, FAME managed the full scope, concept, design and build, delivering a stand that became one of the most talked-about activations at OzWater.

  • A fully custom “It’s a Walk in the Park” concept, designed from scratch to physically express what Open Point’s software does
  • A 4.5 metre custom-built fig tree, creating height and intrigue visible from across the convention floor
  • A single continuous pathway through the space, creating a visual metaphor for the three phases of Open Point’s technology that a user would move through, with a branded pod at each phase point giving the sales team a natural structure to guide conversations
  • Integrated seating throughout, positioned to capture foot traffic from the adjacent catering zone and encourage people to stop and stay
  • Full greenery and styling, creating a calm, open environment that contrasted deliberately with the surrounding exhibition floor
  • End-to-end project management, concept through to bump-in and on-site coordination, delivered within the three-week window
  • OzWater venue approvals and applications to ensure compliance with expo requirements, as well as compliance with the client’s sponsorship terms

WHY THIS ACTIVATION WORKED

This project highlights our ability to deliver:

  • Translating a complex, hard-to-explain product into a tangible, physical experience that did the selling before anyone said a word
  • Every design decision tied back to a business objective, not just aesthetics
  • Full-service delivery spanning concept, structural build, furniture and styling, managed end-to-end within a three-week window
  • When last-minute venue restrictions threatened the original design, the concept was reworked on the fly without losing the idea behind it

For software companies and technology brands, activations like this are critical for:

  • Making complex products instantly understandable to a room full of prospects
  • Standing out in a category where every competitor looks the same
  • Converting foot traffic into genuine sales conversations
