The Event

Open Haven is a registered charity that provides a safe and confidential place for women who are survivors of domestic violence abuse.  The Open Haven Gala Dinner was held at the Gallery of Modern Art at the Water Mall in Queensland to raise funds for survivors of domestic violence. The organisation also launched their new Pagoni Official X Open Haven Ltd partnership on the night.

Open Haven is a repeat client. We had organised a successful event for them in 2022, so they were familiar with how we worked and our dedication to achieving their goals by pulling together an outstanding event.

Event Management Services Provided

  • Creation of an event website to manage information. 
  • Management of all delegate registrations
  • All communication with delegates – pre-, during and post-event
  • Budget management + recommendations.
  • Styling concept + execution.
  • Researching, booking and managing all suppliers. 
  • Fundraising efforts – sourcing elements, managing efforts.
  • Venue research.
  • Venue liaison – including run sheets, floor plans, key timings, and catering.
  • Event coordination – the primary point of contact for the venue, client, speakers, and suppliers, ensuring the seamless running of the event.
  • Post-event reporting/attendee survey – including fundraising efforts.

How were the objectives achieved?

  1. Creation of an Open Haven Fun Box with only 50 keys available, one of which unlocked an exclusive gift valued at AUD 6,290. 
  2. Reached a new audience by tapping into their existing database, and asking their list to bring a plus one (someone who hadn’t been to an event before or knew of the charity).
  3. Reached out to our networks to donate goods for the auction. All profits went to the charity which moved them closer to their target amount.
  4. Partnered with a jewelry brand with 50% of profits going to the charity.
  5. Negotiated the best prices with suppliers and the venue so we could maximise the funds raised from the event.

Conclusion

The Gala Dinner raised over $100k for the charity. It brought various stakeholders together
on the night and raised awareness of the charity’s work among a new audience.
