This year’s Growl Racing Expo was an unforgettable experience, not just for car enthusiasts and attendees, but for us event coordinator’s behind the scenes making it all happen. As an event coordinator with FAME Event Design, I had the privilege of playing a hands-on role in planning and executing this high-energy car show event. Seeing everything come together was incredibly rewarding.
Coordinating the Growl Racing event
The event kicked off with the arrival of our amazing exhibitors, and from the very beginning, my focus as an event coordinator was on ensuring a smooth and safe experience for all participants.
Vehicle bump-in management: I coordinated the arrival of vehicles delivered via tow trucks and trailers, overseeing the bump-in process to ensure everything ran like clockwork.
Exhibitor space allocation: Prior to the event, I mapped and assigned all exhibitor spaces. This made setup stress-free and efficient, giving each participant a clear and organised spot to showcase their vehicles.
Stage and entertainment management: During the event, I managed the stage schedule, working closely with performers to keep the live entertainment running seamlessly.
Client and crowd communication: I was the go-to contact for client enquiries, helping with ticket sales, minor crowd control, and addressing on-the-spot concerns to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, including the FAME team.
Why I love being an event coordinator
There’s something incredibly fulfilling about watching a vision come to life and Growl Racing was no exception. Hearing positive feedback from exhibitors, clients, venue staff, and the public reminded me why I’m so passionate about event coordinating.
Two parts of the event stood out for me:
Bump-in/bump-out coordination: Managing the vehicle logistics and ensuring clear communication throughout the process was a challenge I thrived on. It’s one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.
Problem solving on the day: As the first point of contact for any issues, I was constantly on my toes – troubleshooting, adapting, and making sure everything stayed on track.
Growl Racing 2024 was more than just a car show – it was a celebration of community, collaboration, and passion. Being part of the FAME team that brought this event to life is something I’ll always be proud of.
