A successful fundraising event is about more than just a great cause – it’s about creating an experience that inspires generosity, sparks connection, and leaves guests feeling part of something meaningful. That’s where fundraising event styling comes in. From the entrance to the final touchpoints, great styling sets the tone and guides the journey.

At FAME Event Design, we recently styled JuicedTV’s first-ever “The Games” fundraising afternoon, a fun-filled fundraiser celebrating 10 years of bringing joy to kids in hospital. The event raised over $100,000, but more importantly, it created an atmosphere where every guest felt engaged, connected, and inspired to give. Here are five key fundraising event styling tips you can take from this event to elevate your own fundraising efforts.

1. Choose a strategic colour palette for fundraising event styling

Choosing the right colours sets the foundation for your event. For JuicedTV, we selected a fresh green palette to keep the space neutral and cohesive, allowing the hero elements – like the multicoloured tennis ball fundraising wall – to really stand out.

A strategic colour palette ensures visual consistency across signage, décor, and key touchpoints, helping your message shine without overwhelming the space.

2. Make the entrance memorable

First impressions matter, especially at fundraising events where you want guests to feel welcomed and excited from the outset. We created a custom entrance framed with green tennis balls, tying directly into the games theme and setting the tone for what was ahead.

A strong entrance builds anticipation and signals to guests that every detail has been considered.

3. Guide guests with clear signage

One of the simplest ways to elevate your event experience is through purposeful signage. At JuicedTV’s “The Games” afternoon, we designed custom signs to direct guests to each activity zone, from table tennis to basketball, mini golf, and TFP Powerplay.

Clear, well-placed signage prevents confusion, keeps the event flowing smoothly, and ensures guests spend more time enjoying the experience (and engaging with your cause).

4. Incorporate interactive fundraising elements into your styling

Engagement is everything at a fundraising event. We designed a custom registration desk complete with a merchandise display to capture attention from the start, and a vibrant fundraising wall with multi-coloured tennis balls to match the brand colours and stand out against the green colour palette. Each tennis ball represented $10,000 raised.

Interactive elements like these give guests a tangible way to connect with the event’s mission and visually track its impact.

5. Plan for the unexpected

Even the best-planned events encounter challenges and your styling needs to adapt. On the day, strong winds meant we had to get creative: cable ties to secure signage, weights and pot plants to hold items steady, and double-sided tape to keep merchandise displays in place.

Thinking ahead (and having a few tricks up your sleeve) ensures your event remains safe, seamless, and stress-free for guests – no matter what the weather brings.

Styling is a strategic tool to shape experiences, guide behaviour, and enhance the impact of your fundraising event. From a carefully chosen colour palette to interactive fundraising features, every element should serve a purpose.
